Who wants a golden ticket to see the spectacular new musical Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, playing only in Sydney at the Capitol Theatre?

We’re giving away the most sought-after tickets in the country – a chance for you and your family to enjoy this delicious show on Wednesday 27 February at 7:30pm at the Capitol Theatre in Sydney. We’ve got four tickets in total to give away.

The lucky winner will get to experience the wonders of Wonka like never before – get ready for the Oompa-Loompas, incredible inventions, the great glass elevator and more, more, more at this everlasting showstopper!

Willy Wonka, the most amazing, fantastic, extraordinary chocolate maker the world has ever seen, is played by Paul Slade Smith, who was part of the original Broadway cast of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

Four boys share the role of Charlie Bucket in this delicious tale, Oliver Alkhair (11), Tommy Blair (11), Xion Jarvis (9) and Ryan Yeates (13).

Ninety and a half-year-old Grandpa Joe, an enthusiastic storyteller and eternal optimist, is played by Australian show business royalty Tony Sheldon, who is best known for playing the role of Bernadette in Priscilla, Queen of the Desert.

Jake Fehily and Octavia Barron Martin play Augustus Gloop and Mrs Gloop, Karina Russell and Stephen Anderson are Veruca Salt and Mr Salt, Monette McKay (until February) and Jayme-Lee Hanekom (from March) play Violet Beauregard with Madison McKoy as Mr Beauregard, and Harrison Riley and Jayde Westaby are Mike Teavee and his mother Mrs Teavee.

Step inside a world of pure imagination. Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is the perfect recipe for a delectable treat: songs from the original film including “Pure Imagination”, “The Candy Man” and “I’ve Got a Golden Ticket”, alongside a toe-tapping and ear-tickling new score from the songwriters of Hairspray.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is perhaps Roald Dahl’s best-known story and has proved to be one of the most enduring children’s books of all time. The story of Charlie Bucket, the five Golden Tickets, the Oompa-Loompas and the amazing Willy Wonka has become firmly embedded in our culture since it was first published in 1964.

My favourite is Mr Salt. I admire his dedication to giving his daughter what she wants Hahahaha.

  • There are so many great characters in Charlie and the Chocolate factory but I think Charlie would have to be our favourite because he epitomises the hope we all should have for a brighter future.

  • Charlie because he is so polite and humble

  • Augustus Gloop, because he is a silly fat chump who got fell into the river of chocolate and got sucked up a tube. And got stuck. He always makes us laugh.
