Who wants a golden ticket to see the spectacular new musical Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, playing only in Sydney at the Capitol Theatre?

We’re giving away the most sought-after tickets in the country – a chance for you and your family to enjoy this delicious show on Wednesday 27 February at 7:30pm at the Capitol Theatre in Sydney. We’ve got four tickets in total to give away.

The lucky winner will get to experience the wonders of Wonka like never before – get ready for the Oompa-Loompas, incredible inventions, the great glass elevator and more, more, more at this everlasting showstopper!

Willy Wonka, the most amazing, fantastic, extraordinary chocolate maker the world has ever seen, is played by Paul Slade Smith, who was part of the original Broadway cast of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

Four boys share the role of Charlie Bucket in this delicious tale, Oliver Alkhair (11), Tommy Blair (11), Xion Jarvis (9) and Ryan Yeates (13).

Ninety and a half-year-old Grandpa Joe, an enthusiastic storyteller and eternal optimist, is played by Australian show business royalty Tony Sheldon, who is best known for playing the role of Bernadette in Priscilla, Queen of the Desert.

Jake Fehily and Octavia Barron Martin play Augustus Gloop and Mrs Gloop, Karina Russell and Stephen Anderson are Veruca Salt and Mr Salt, Monette McKay (until February) and Jayme-Lee Hanekom (from March) play Violet Beauregard with Madison McKoy as Mr Beauregard, and Harrison Riley and Jayde Westaby are Mike Teavee and his mother Mrs Teavee.

Step inside a world of pure imagination. Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is the perfect recipe for a delectable treat: songs from the original film including “Pure Imagination”, “The Candy Man” and “I’ve Got a Golden Ticket”, alongside a toe-tapping and ear-tickling new score from the songwriters of Hairspray.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is perhaps Roald Dahl’s best-known story and has proved to be one of the most enduring children’s books of all time. The story of Charlie Bucket, the five Golden Tickets, the Oompa-Loompas and the amazing Willy Wonka has become firmly embedded in our culture since it was first published in 1964.

  • Grandpa Joe his faith and love for Charlie shows what true family commitment is

  • I love Veruca Salt. She has such a feisty attitude :)

  • Willy Wonka! Gene Wilder or Johnny Depp. He is quirky and funny and not to mention we would love to own the chocolate factory! Being so quirky gives him these great ideas for all new sweets. Definitely one of the best characters out there. A fantastic show for the family.

  • Willy Wonka because he’s the creator of all the scrumptious goodies! He’s super quirky and funny and deep down is a softy with a heart of gold, or could it be chocolate?

  • Grandpa Joe is our favourite as he reminds us of my dad who lives in The UK – he is 86 and a half! He is a mix of old school manners and a bit of fun!
