Who wants a golden ticket to see the spectacular new musical Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, playing only in Sydney at the Capitol Theatre?

We’re giving away the most sought-after tickets in the country – a chance for you and your family to enjoy this delicious show on Wednesday 27 February at 7:30pm at the Capitol Theatre in Sydney. We’ve got four tickets in total to give away.

The lucky winner will get to experience the wonders of Wonka like never before – get ready for the Oompa-Loompas, incredible inventions, the great glass elevator and more, more, more at this everlasting showstopper!

Willy Wonka, the most amazing, fantastic, extraordinary chocolate maker the world has ever seen, is played by Paul Slade Smith, who was part of the original Broadway cast of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

Four boys share the role of Charlie Bucket in this delicious tale, Oliver Alkhair (11), Tommy Blair (11), Xion Jarvis (9) and Ryan Yeates (13).

Ninety and a half-year-old Grandpa Joe, an enthusiastic storyteller and eternal optimist, is played by Australian show business royalty Tony Sheldon, who is best known for playing the role of Bernadette in Priscilla, Queen of the Desert.

Jake Fehily and Octavia Barron Martin play Augustus Gloop and Mrs Gloop, Karina Russell and Stephen Anderson are Veruca Salt and Mr Salt, Monette McKay (until February) and Jayme-Lee Hanekom (from March) play Violet Beauregard with Madison McKoy as Mr Beauregard, and Harrison Riley and Jayde Westaby are Mike Teavee and his mother Mrs Teavee.

Step inside a world of pure imagination. Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is the perfect recipe for a delectable treat: songs from the original film including “Pure Imagination”, “The Candy Man” and “I’ve Got a Golden Ticket”, alongside a toe-tapping and ear-tickling new score from the songwriters of Hairspray.

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is perhaps Roald Dahl’s best-known story and has proved to be one of the most enduring children’s books of all time. The story of Charlie Bucket, the five Golden Tickets, the Oompa-Loompas and the amazing Willy Wonka has become firmly embedded in our culture since it was first published in 1964.

  • Willy Wonka! He’s the main star of the movie and has such a quirky side too him.

  • I do love Violet Beauregard I feel she should have one imagine re writing the play to have her win! She knew her sweets, she was compassionate to the Oompa Loompas!

  • Grandpa Joe – he’s witty, kind, has a quirky mind, playful and fun and so excited that he won! My sister has five kids, would like to take the eldest!!

  • Charlie. So inventive and humorous

  • Willy Wonka because of his amazing personality.

  • Willy Wonka for his crazy spirit, colourful ways, and zany chocolate and sweet creations. He was also super smart in how he “tested” the children on the tour of his factory to see who had the kindest heart. If only there was a chocolate factory just like Willy Wonka’s today!!

  • Mr wonker as he was so kind to the umpa lumpas

  • The umper lumpers we have watch the old and new movies about 100 times my husband says ring Willy wonka on his phone and it rings me love love love Willy wonka and the chocolate factory my favourite movie

  • Willy Wonka – he’s fun, cheery, cheeky and lives in an awesome place! We’d love to live there and visit the chocolate room!!

  • Grandpa joe is both our favorites because he tells charlie not to give up on the golden ticket and they have a magical
    Time together

  • i don’t have a favourite child, however i love the fact that the greedy kid got caught in the chocolate tube :-)

  • veruca salt, we’ve ll learnt a valuable life lesson that “i want” doesn’t get and sometimes even has consequences!

  • Charlie as he is adorable.

  • It has to be Charlie, because my husband’s name is Charles, and whenever he’s in the bathroom too long the kids yell out, “Dad’s working in the chocolate factory!!” Hahaha…makes us all laugh!

  • Charlie
