Dad shares the heartbreaking texts he discovered on his old phone from his daughter to her deceased grandad.

James O’Brien, who is a British journalist and radio presenter, posted the text messages on Twitter.

“My youngest has had my old phone for a couple of years. Just for games, which I download for her before disconnecting the internet. Still has my old contacts though & it turns out she’s been messaging my dad, who died 5 years ago. I may have something in my eye,” he wrote.

  • So sweet and sentimental. I’m surprised the dad didn’t erase the contacts in case the phone was lost or stolen.

  • How precious, beautiful !
After my sister died we were watching a wee video of her. I believe my daughter was 6 at that time. Seeing my sister she cried out: “Is that Ada, skyping from heaven with us ?” It so touched my heart….

  • I’d like to believe her grandfather is watching over her and the family.
