Michelle from Brisbane loves to share her DIY/CRAFT/ HACK ideas and we have spotted just a couple that we fell instantly in love with.

Michelle recently shared this clever idea with old jeans on her Bargain Hacker page.

Michelle wrote, “The other day I had a major wardrobe cull and discovered I had way too many pairs of old jeans.
So I decided to cut them up and repurpose them !

“The pot was super easy to make so I’ve included some photos but the purse was a little more detailed and required sewing skills so I’ve done my best to try to explain!!”  (Find all the details for the purse HERE!)

“The pot was super easy – just cut and traced around some old fabric to get the shapes and then pinned and cut out the jeans to fit the pot! A great fabric / craft glue will secure the jean fabric to the pot!!”

DON’T THROW OUT THOSE OLD JEANS!!!???? Just recently I had a massive wardrobe cull and ended up with a pile of old jeans!! The fabric was just too good to pass up – so I put it to good use! I’m still working on other Jean Projects but these were the first two I came up with!! The pot was super easy – just cut and traced around some old fabric to get the shapes and then pinned and cut out the jeans to fit the pot! A great fabric / craft glue will secure the jean fabric to the pot!! The purse was a little tricky to make as you do need some sewing skills!! So many fun ideas to repurpose old jeans. #hack #hacks #repurposing #decorhacks #homehacks #decorate #creativemum #creative #bargain #bargainshopper #lookwhat_i_found #homemade #homedecor #decor #lookwhatimade

She also shared this fab idea for the Target placemats.

Michelle explained, “All I did to make these was to use some cotton twine, jute twine and a large wool needle and hand stitch around the edge.”

  • Great that this encourages recycling but I wouldn’t want them

  • Creative ideas, but not for me.

  • not really our thing

  • Creative hacks for sure but no ones that appeal to me for my home.

  • Although the idea is nice, I wouldn’t like a jeans flower pot in my living room or walk around with a jeans clip purse. We have made jeans shoulder bags in the past and mini skirts from trousers and I think that is quite cute.
The outside pillows from the placemates look nice.

  • It looks kind of funny. I personally wouldn’t do it but I see the creativity.

  • If they are originally long legged jeans and the legs are wide enough they can be altered into 3/4 pants or shorts. If you like the “”patched” look you can cut up the good parts of a pair of jeans and put them on another pair to make the “patched” look.

  • Clever ideas but who really has time to make that kind of stuff?

  • Great for those who like this sort of recycling – would look out of place in my minimalist home though.

  • Not my style, but I love how creative people can be!

  • I really like the purse. Not a fan of the planter but to each their own.

    • I agree I think the purse is cut but don’t like the plant cover.
