Food standards Australia and NZ has issued a recall for eggs sold across Australia due to salmonella fears.

As a result of ongoing investigations, further egg products are being recalled due to potential Salmonella Enteritidis) contamination.

CR and M Ash and Sons is conducting a recall of the below products. The products have been available for sale at IGA’s, independent stores, bakeries and butchers in NSW.
– Ash and Sons Blue Mountains Free Range Eggs 700g,
– Ash and Sons Blue Mountains Cage Free Eggs 700g,
– Ash and Sons Fresh Eggs From My Farm 800g,
– Ash and Sons Farm Fresh Eggs 600g, 700g, 800g
Single sticker with best before date 26/April/19 AND 3/May/19

Problem: The recall is due to potential microbial (Salmonella Enteritidis) contamination.

Food safety hazard: Food products contaminated with Salmonella Enteritidis may cause illness if consumed.

What to do: Any consumers concerned about their health should seek medical advice and should return the products to the place of purchase for a full refund.

  • I read it. Terrible. Luckily I just buy Coles brand eggs and they have not been affected by the recall.

  • It’s good to see there are no cage eggs on this list! I don’t buy any of these so we are safe, for now, til the next product recall

  • We get our eggs from a friend with chickens. They are so much nicer than supermarket eggs.
