Hello!

These days there appears to be a somewhat negative stigma attached to ‘aphrodisiacs’.

People seem reluctant to talk about it and are embarrassed to mention that they indulge in them from time-to-time.

But why can’t we openly talk about aphrodisiacs like we openly discuss all other parts of our lives?

They are all around us, and we don’t even realise it. It was in my studies as a herbal healer that I found the benefits of consuming natural aphrodisiacs and discovered cultures that still embrace natural aphrodisiacs around the world.

I am a firm believer in feeding your body beautiful and natural ingredients and have discovered many ingredients that are commonly used in products that give you that oomph you sometimes need. Women should embrace the use of aphrodisiacs and not think of them as something they turn to in a negative way. They should see them as a form of natural empowerment and treat themselves.

If you’re feeling like your libido is low, don’t worry; you’re not the only one. A study done in the USA in 2008 showed that one in three women have low sexual desire. One in three. That is a huge amount!

So why aren’t more women turning to natural aphrodisiacs to bring back their desire? That’s one of the reasons why I started my all natural aphrodisiac range, Cleopatra. I wanted to create products that gave women that inspiration to gain confidence and get back in the bedroom.

Some common natural aphrodisiac ingredients that I wanted to bring back into circulation were:

  1. Damiana: a native Mexican plant that’s been used for years to help women achieve orgasm and feel relaxed.
  2. Horny Goat Weed: an ingredient that gets a lot of smirks and giggles – but it truly works! It was discovered in Asia and is common in Chinese medicine. It increases blood flow and gets you in the mood.
  3. Maca: a natural ingredient that has been used in the Andes for thousands of years. It’s been proven to enhance sexual thoughts and inspire interaction in both sexes.

Ladies, don’t be ashamed to get your hands on products that have these ingredients in them – they are natural and have been put on this earth for a reason, so embrace them!

  • I use Maca powder to aid recovery from exercise, I have heard it is also good for your skin and can ease the symptoms of menopause. I can’t say I’ve noticed any sexual side effects though.
