Hello!

We dared to ask if it was time to ditch the Turkish Delight from the Cadbury Favourite boxes, and boy did we spark a huge response!

Whenever there’s a box of Favourites passed around, it’s always the Cherry Ripes and Turkish Delights that cop all the hate. Well, whether you love or hate this apparently popular confectionery, it seems the good old Turkish delight is actually a favourite of many chocolate connoisseurs.

One fan with a penchant for exclamation marks responded, “Blasphemers!!!! Never speak ill of Turkish delight!!! Never!!!”

Another said, “Wow! What is with the Turkish Delight hate?”

Kirstie soon told us, “You shut your dirty mouth. Turkish delight are bloody delicious. Any one who doesn’t like them can send them to me.”

Another agreed, “Stop picking on the Turkish Delight.”

Rosalie added, “Turkish delight is the top favourite in my house and dream is happily eaten by my kids!”

Not everyone is a fan

Although someone posted on the Cadbury Facebook page asking them to get rid of it from the popular box of Favourites range.

“Who do I need to speak with to get the Turkish Delight removed from your Favourites range? I suggest replacing that “chocolate” with the tasty Time-Out bar which everyone loves. Now I understand that this is the only way you can get rid of the Turkish Delight by smuggling them into the Favourites boxes and into the homes of the unsuspecting public but sometimes Cadbury you need to take a step back before you take a step forward.”

Another agreed that there needs to be a campaign to get rid of Turkish Delights entirely.

  • I have to admit I never used to like the Turkish Delight but in the last few years I’ve changed. I don’t hate them, I don’t even like them, I LOVE them. Don’t know what changed in me but I can’t get enough of them. Now I’ve said that, they’ll probably stop making them. I still haven’t perfected that wiggle move though.

  • Turkish delight are one of the few chocolates in the favourites box that I actually like. They can get rid of dream, old gold, cherry ripe, flake (what even is with that) and add more moro, turkish delight and caramel ones.
