A mother breastfeeding in public allegedly ‘squirted her boob’ at a woman who told her to move somewhere private.

The post states: ‘To the lady in Dartford park who thought it was appropriate to breastfeed her baby whist my child and very easily distracted husband sat nearby.

‘I don’t think it was necessary for you to react the way you did just because I asked you to go somewhere private, telling me to f*** off and squirting me with your boobs was incredibly uncalled for. I hope you are ashamed of yourself!’

The post has since caused a storm among locals with many coming to the defence of the breast-feeding mother.

One reply said: ‘I hope you’re ashamed of yourself, her reaction may not have been the right way to deal with your ignorance, but she has every right to feed her child there, if it offended you that much why didn’t you move?’

Another said, ‘If this lady told me to stop breastfeeding my daughter and to go somewhere else I would tell her to do one!

‘How sad is it that breastfeeding is seen as a bad thing now and formula feeding is the norm. Good luck to the breastfeeding mum who told this lady where to go.’

Others criticised the husband for ‘ogling’ the mother and child.

  • Two wrongs dont make a right. Both of you get some class and as for your easily distracted husband….tell him to grow up and be a real man.

  • If you have an easily distracted husband, maybe you need to move. Where else was this breastfeeding mum supposed to go?? Although I don’t agree that the right reaction was squirting her milk at the woman

  • Squirting was out of line, but I don’t think the “easily distracted” husband was the breast feeding mum’s problem o solve.

  • In Australia it is illegal to discriminate against a person either directly or indirectly on the grounds of breastfeeding. (Sex Discrimination Act 1984)
Still laughing she got squirted. Wish all BF mums were this empowered as I’ve known too many mums that have been hassled for BF in public and then felt ashamed and wanted to stop altogether.

  • Oh yuck! I am still amazed in this day and age that people are still offended by breast feeding. I would’ve ignored the woman and continued feeding my baby. I would NOT have squirted her with my milk tho. Ew!

  • I like this mum – I’d totes be her friend! Wonder if the complaining mum was ever asked to stop feeding her child dinner because it made someone else uncomfortable? I hope she got her with the milk too!

  • I understand the temptation. People need to remove themselves from the area if they are uncomfortable with a mother feeding her child. My advice, shut your mouth if you are uncomfortable, that is your own issue.

  • I must admit I feel uncomfortable someone breastfeeding in front of me. My reaction would be to move away myself as it’s my problem not hers. I think they both reacted wrongly.

  • Doesn’t sound like anyone reacted apropriately in this situation.

  • It was probably a knee jerk reaction to quite a rude comment !

  • Oh wow! I don’t even know what to say to this.

  • Why are we stooping so low with behaviour? What about we raise the bar just a little? I just can’t believe either reactions really.

  • Lol it’s kind of funny really but I see both sides. You should be able to feed anywhere but there’s no need to show everything either. I had a cover and was always discreet.

  • Personally I preferred to breastfeed discreetly so no man husband or otherwise could ogle me. But whatever floats your boat. Would never squirt at someone – too precious for my child.

  • I thought this was hilarious. I sprayed a few times when baby has unlatched at the wrong time, but I don’t think it would be enough to spray someone else near me.
She had every right to feed her baby where it was convenient for her, and the complaining woman needs to suck it up, look away and take it up with her husband if she had issue with his oggling.
I personally perfect privacy, but I don’t have an issue with others if they do it publicly. So if someone else has an issue with it, I have words for them
