Who doesn’t own a pair of classic blue jeans?

Jeans are a mainstay in every woman’s wardrobe for their durable quality, timeless design, cosy comfort, sexy fits, and their ability to dress-up or dress-down in a flash. Let’s face it, women’s jeans are here to stay so if you don’t own a couple pairs in different styles, go shopping pronto.

Are jeans suitable for any occasion?

That’s the beauty of women’s jeans; you can wear them (almost) anywhere, for any occasion. Pull on a pair of worn-in jeans for kicking around the house, doing the school run, or running errands. And a pair of fitted skinny jeans are perfect for lunch with friends, casual Fridays at work, or weekend getaways to the country. Choosing which jeans to wear is all about the style, fit, colour, and accessories worn, which will determine your overall look.

How can I dress-up a pair of jeans for a special occasion?

First, choose a style that is fitted and tidy looking. A special occasion is usually not the time for distressed or baggy jeans so stay away from boyfriend jeans and ripped jeans, but of course, it depends on the event. Levi’s® jeans are the world’s most famous, and original, makers of denim-wear so naturally, they have a lot of styles to choose from. Levi’s® 711 Skinny jeans in a dark wash or black paired with ankle boots, or colourful heels will instantly fancy-up your jeans. On top, wear a flowing off the shoulder floral blouse, or a belted faux wrap top for a touch of elegance.

Which jean styles are the best for a casual vibe?

Jeans rocked their way into fashion as a symbol of rebellion when James Dean was king of casual cool in the late 1950s. As the years went by, denim became an acceptable everyday item to wear casually (and eventually, smart-casual too). Boyfriend styles are a relaxed, loose fitting jean that’s super comfy to wear all day. Paired with a plain tee and belt, boyfriend jeans are essential for lazy days, and winter beach walks. Levi’s® 501 Original jeans with a button-fly are your best bet for a traditional pair for everyday wear. This classic-look blue jean is available in a range of styles, including cropped and ripped, and will easily become your go-to pair. Got curves you want to flaunt? Look for Levi’s® Wedgie Fit jeans in plus sizes, which are comfortably snug around your waist and thighs to show off your sexy self.

Which shade and colour of denim should I wear?

Long gone are the days of blue jeans just being one shade of blue. Jeans come in all different colours and shades to give you more style options. Of course, it’s always ideal to have a pair of classic blue jeans and build your collection from there. Black jeans and dark wash blue jeans are great for dressing up for semi-formal occasions and special outings. In general, darker colours are also more slimming. White denim and lighter shades are cool for hot summer days, and medium wash or two-toned faded styles are timeless shades that won’t go out of fashion.

How can I accessorise women’s jeans?

Make finding your best look fun by playing with different accessories. A stylish leather or a chain belt wrapped around a pair of super comfortable Mile High Super Skinny, high-waisted jeans adds another element to your outfit. Glam up your look with silver or gold necklaces with conversational charm jewellery and a matching bracelet for Sunday brunch or evening cocktails at your favourite sundowner spot.

Jeans will always be a staple in wardrobes around the world, especially with so many styles, colours and fits, including plus size, available today. You really can wear women’s jeans for all occasions; it’s just a matter of choosing the right ones for the time and place.

  • I seem to alternate between my jeans and some warmer pants most of the winter. Jeans can be dressed up easier than track trousers.

  • I have lots and lots of jeans in varying colours – light denim, dark denim, black, charcoal, khaki, fitted, boyfriend, girlfriend, 7/8, long, skinny, ripped. I wear them all regularly and agree that baggy and ripped are not suitable for the theatre or musicals, but can be worn to the right concert!! There’s a pair of jeans for every occasion.
