A mum-of-six has been slammed on social media for posting a photo of her ‘stretch marks’.

Sharny Kieser, 39, known as ‘Fitmum’ shared a photo of herself on her Facebook page Sharny & Julius wearing a crop top and shorts; her stretch marks proudly revealed.

While thousands praised her and thanked her ‘for showing the reality of being a mum’ there were also some who left hurtful comments, shares Daily Mail.

One comment read – ‘at least Photoshop the disgusting stretch marks out’.

Her husband, Julius, quickly came to Ms Kaiser’s defence.

Mr Kaiser, who takes many of his wife’s portraits, shared a dramatic black and white image showing Ms Kaiser, along with a caption which read:

‘Stretchmarks are beautiful’.

‘I think they symbolise the strength of a mother who brought six children into the world. Not just this mother, but EVERY mother,’ he wrote in his post.

‘I believe that a body of a confident WOMAN (like this) is far more beautiful and sexy than the body of an insecure GIRL (what you normally see on social media),’ he added.

Last week, I posted a photo of Sharny with her tummy out and a young girl said “at least photoshop the disgusting stretch marks out.” Here’s a new photo, where I’ve adjusted the light so you can see ONLY stretch marks. Enjoy, because I do. I think they’re beautiful. I think they symbolise the strength of a mother who brought 6 children into the world. Not just this mother, but EVERY mother. I believe that a body of a confident WOMAN (like this) is far more beautiful and sexy than the body of an insecure GIRL (what you normally see on social media). That’s not saying instagirls are ugly, they just lack life experience, they’re shallow. Not shallow like we normally say, but shallow in life, not yet interesting. But they will be, that’s a given. And I hope that when they DO earn their depth of character and maybe scars/stretch marks, they KNOW that they are not ugly or used, but beautiful and important and courageous. They are mums. #instamodel #normalizestretchmarks #beautiful #beachbody #stretchmarks #scars #mother #wife #sexy

Thank you, Julius, for being such an understanding man. We need to see this more and stop judging mums for ridiculous stuff.

Sharny has shared in the past a moving post on Instagram admitting she loves her body despite her visible stretch marks and saggy skin. Read more here.

  • Can these perfect people please post photos of themselves so we know what perfection looks like?

  • It is a person’s personality and how the treat others that matters, not their appearance.

  • I don’t have stretchmarks but am proud of my ‘saggy Mummy boobs’ they nurtured my four babies, two who are twins and they got enormous. I think it’s beautiful, the body is amazing in what it can do and we should celebrate that, not ridicule.

  • I’d be complimenting here on her body overall rather than worrying about stretch marks.

  • Wowza!! 6 kids she looks great!! Our bodies are amazing, grew and created life. We are so lucky we get to wear our tiger stripes with pride, not every woman get the chance. I’ll be flaunting mine come summer ♥️

  • Seriously? What disgusting and vile people would make such comments? I am constantly shaking my head at the shame of others. She looks awesome. If only I could again have a stomach like that.

  • I remember seeing this meme years ago and it is great. Sorry about the swearing

  • If she’s comfortable showing it out in public then good for her. It’s her choice. If you don’t have anything nice to say then don’t say anything at all

  • I don’t care about the stretch marks; I just want to know why so many people in all shapes and sizes need to post photos of themselves half naked. Some of them seem better kept private, not because of what they look like, but just because strangers don’t need to see so much of anybody!

  • Good on him. Social media seems to give people an outlet for running their mouths without filtering their words. If you wouldn’t say it to someone’s face, you shouldn’t be saying it on the internet.

  • This might sound a little strange, but I honestly think a scar, repaired cleft lip, stretch marks, can make people even more beautiful !

  • I think it’s great to see a woman who carried and brought 6 children into the world, show her streatchmarks . As they are something that do happen and shaming someone for them is so very wrong.

  • She looks fabulous for 39
And 6 kids omg good on her

  • No excuse for being vile and bullying she looks great and good on her husband for sticking up for her.

  • Think looks very good, great body for a woman who gave birth to 6 kids, respect !
Who says btw stretchmarks are not beautiful ? Who says hanging boobs are not beautiful ? Who says wrinkles are not beautiful ? Who says grey hair or hair in whatever colour, thin hair, thick hair, curly or whatever hair is not beautiful ? It’s our personality living in our bodies that makes us beautiful. Trolls are certainly not beautiful. There’s far too much emphasis on how we look.

    • I agree – there is far too much emphasis and fixation on perceived external beauty and not enough on internal and honest inner beauty.
