Coles Little Shop Collectables coming back with a special Christmas edition!

We shared our insider scoop a couple of weeks ago after this sneaky little note was spotted in one of the many Facebook collectables groups.

The note advises staff, “We have some BIG news, team! Little shop is back for Christmas!”

Continues on to state, “From Friday 7 December, for every $30 spent at Coles, customers can collect a FREE mini collectable – with a total of 5 minis to collect.”

People got excited!

“At least it’s only 5 this time”, one wrote person.

Another said, “Omg … cue craziness.. I can’t wait haha”

“Hopefully a little Xmas stocking with the chocolate in it.”

Someone else suggested items we could expect to see in the Christmas mini’s range like maybe – Mini Fruit Mince Pies, Brandy Custard, Plum Pudding, Mini Turkey etc

Coles confirmed the news the following day

A spokesperson for the supermarket giant spoke to news.com.au saying that the Christmas-themed collection would include gingerbread, mince pies, a pavlova, bonbons, and a limited-edition gingerbread ice-cream.

Just as the previous collection worked, customers will receive one Christmas mini collectable for every $30 they spend.

The Coles Little Shop Christmas Edition launches on 7 December. TODAY!

The supermarket has also indicated that there will be a limited number of special-edition Christmas stocking collector cases, which will be on sale for $4.

And today is the day you will score these little cuties in your groceries when you spend over $30.

It’s The Battle Of The Collectables

Earlier this month, Woolworths went head-to-head with Coles in the collectible space, as they launched their series of Christmas Pop-Outs, which feature 12 cardboard characters.

Customers will receive one for each $30 they spend in-store or online. The characters include Santa, Reindeer, Elves, Gingerbread Man and Snowman. The pieces “pop out” from the cardboard frame and can be assembled using the instructions at the bottom of the board.

But not all customers were pleased with the pop-outs saying:

“So it’s gonna cost me $30 to get a piece of cardboard? I can probably make them? If it was 1 for every $10 I wouldn’t mind as much,” one shopper said.

  • The Woolworths Collectables are crap but that it where we shop because we don’t have a Coles close by…
I actually don’t like a lot of collectables that supermarkets release because it is just more stuff that gets spread around the house.

  • We mostly shop at Woolworths, so unfortunately my kids havent collected the coles minis

  • I got six of them, three mince pies though, so looking for the ice cream. Not sure if I get the case as shop was sold out by 10am. Thinking maybe using them as decorations, so if I do not get a full set can be used

  • I can’t get excited about these.
