Jack Vidgen was a baby faced 14-year-old when he won Australia’s Got Talent in 2011.

But the aspiring singer, now 22, has completely transformed his appearance over the past eight years.

Having returned to the spotlight as a contestant on The Voice, Jack looked hardly recognisable in a promotional photo released by Channel Nine on Sunday.

Jack said this week: ‘I went from being just some kid to fame and money and everything.

‘Somewhere along the line I just fell out of love with music. I quit completely. I just felt alone and at rock bottom. I haven’t been on a stage in over five years.’

After winning Australia’s Got Talent in 2011, Jack released two successful albums, even reaching No. 3 in the ARIA charts with his single Yes I Am.

But since parting ways with label Sony Music Australia in 2014, Jack has mostly stayed out of the celebrity spotlight.

He’s hoping that auditioning for The Voice will relaunch his career as a mature artist.

Although he’s kept his trademark blond hair, Jack has traded in his floppy bangs for a trendy undercut with a wavy quiff.

He also has noticeably plumper lips, but denies undergoing facial fillers.

The Voice AU starts Sunday May 19 on Channel9.

  • He has always been a lovely human being

  • I hope he can stay true to himself.

  • It’s sad when people go on these shows reach highs and then crash. I hope he’s old enough that it doesn’t happen to him again.

  • Some plastic surgery on the poor boy, how sad and disappointing

  • Oh gosh, he looks so very different.

  • I can’t believe this is the Jack that I first saw on TV years ago. Clearly he has grow up and is an adult now, but he just looks like he’s done something to his face. It bothers me.

  • I wouldn’t give him 22yrs, he still looks rather immature. His lips look unnatural to me, but even when he plumped them, that’s up to him / his choice

  • Wish him all the best in his stint on The Voice. Hopefully it’s just his looks that have changed and not his voice as well.

  • Hmm, my first thought when I saw him was, “what has he done to his lips?” He’s certainly grown up.

  • Performers grow up and go through changes – only natural.

    • I hope that media focuses on talent rather than appearances.

  • Seems a little bit of an unnatural change, hope he hasn’t changed his singing style too much, that is all I care about, not the looks.

  • Hmmm not sure I understand why young people have work done…

  • Reminds me of the similar changes that John Farnham went through many years ago. He’s just growing up that’s all.

  • You didn’t recognise him because he’s now trying to look like that guy that thinks he’s a ken doll.

    Reply

  • He looks much more grown up now.
