We’ve all watched celebrities read mean tweets and found it to be absolutely hilarious.

But what happens when kids read mean tweets about themselves? The results are far from funny.

Canadian Safe School Network posted this video online to remind us, as parents, that cyber bullying isn’t a laughing matter, and that it can have a huge effect on our kids.

Watch the incredibly moving video below…

  • No, no cyber bullying. Just the constant, day to day harassment. Where they would actually wait for my daughter to walk in the school gate and they would start

  • Watching this video, especially the last child made me so sad. In an age when we are supposed to be smarter, children think it’s normal or acceptable to write such horrendous things. Are the parents of these bullies aware of how their children are behaving??

  • this is why my child will not have unsupervised internet time until she is 18
i know i sound crazy for saying it but i am afraid of the consequences of my little girl taking to heart what some piece of dirt says online.

  • My son was bullied at Primary School, and thankfully he has not been cyberbullied. It’s something we talk about constantly and are very aware of. I follow him on Twitter and Instagram – these are the only 2 forms of social media he is currently on.

  • Mean tweets etc are NOT acceptable either child or adult ..the old saying goes “if you can’t say anything nice then say nothing at all’ .

  • This is why I don’t let my daughter have social media at 11. She is one of only a handful of kids in her class that doesn’t have her own Facebook page, I think parents should realise you need to be 16 to have an account for a reason!
