Kleenex have been forced to re-brand its “mansize” tissues after consumers complained the name was sexist.

The company behind Kleenex, Kimberly-Clark, told Britain’s Daily Telegraph that it in “no way suggests” that being both soft and strong was “an exclusively masculine trait, nor do we believe that the mansize branding suggests or endorses gender inequality.”

“We are always grateful to customers who take time to tell us how our products can be improved, and we carefully consider all suggestions,” the company said in a statement.

The company came under fire on Twitter, with one mother revealing she was asked by her four-year-old son whether or not boys and girls could use the mansize tissues, shares Yahoo 7.

Kimberly-Clark said the product will now be called “Kleenex Extra Large.” Packages for the tissues describe them as “confidently strong” and “comfortingly soft.”

  • Some people take things a bit too far.

  • This PC action is just plain stupid. Man are almost always bigger than females, and that’s all this size meant.

  • Lol. What a laugh. With the seriousness of man flu, doesn’t it make sense they would need a heavy duty man size tissue ?!

  • These tissues have been around for years and now they want the name changed? If you think it’s sexist don’t buy. I think this is taking sexism too far.

  • Seriously? Who has the time or the interest to worry about such things. It just boggles my mind the kind of rubbish that outrages and then attracts so much media interest. Let’s not pander to the minority. Shut them down.

  • This is just ridiculous! It’s not really trying to be sexist, it’s just a quirky name and think about it, statistically men are bigger than women so to have a larger size tissue to a man, well is it really sexist?

  • Too PC. Having said that, I’m more likely to buy the extra large rather than man sized. I don’t know why that is?!

  • That’s crazy. Who cares if it says man sized. Just means they are bigger.

  • Omg this is getting out of control what next you can’t say or do anything without someone taking offence. There is so many restrictions these days it’s not funny.

  • Feminists are ridiculous???? What are they going to complain about next??
Men are bigger and have bigger hands than women.. there is no hidden offensive meaning behind the mansize tissues meaning ffs.. ????‍♀️????‍♀️

  • Really?? How hard is it to say to a little one that asks that men are usually bigger than women and this is just a funny way of saying bigger than normal tissues. I find that it isn’t the kids that have an issue with these petty things, but the parents.. personally, I would rather fight for a cure against cancer or diabetes than getting my womanly knickers in a knot about something so..um…not worthy of complaining or publication… life is hard, your feelings will be hurt and not everything is meant in a derogatory way.

  • The world as we knew it is long gone, now full of overly sensitive pussies. Seriously, mansize is fine. Men are bigger than women. And this woman does from time to time have a MANSIZED appetite, and when I have hayfever or a cold, most definitely need a MANSIZED tissue to cope with all the snotty mucus. I shudder to think how this world will be in the next ten years, the nonsense and rot my kids will grow up enduring…..life without a sense of humor or being able to speak ones mind. It’s not good, and it needs to stop, and by ‘it’ I most definitely mean all of this PC rubbish.

  • Oh my – this is ridiculous. who cares! There’s bigger things in life to worry about than whether or not tissues are called man size or not.

  • The word mansize doesn’t bother me, but I also think it’s easy enough for the company to change the name to avoid offence.
