Who remembers having a Polly Pocket? If you were a kid of the 90’s, we’re pretty sure you had at least one of these cuties.
Well, guess what, they’re back! I’ve amazingly still got one of mine from decades ago and I’ve just picked up a brand new one for my daughter. I remember spending hours playing with the tiny compact dolls and its portable little house. I can’t wait to see this revival go big.
Thirty years after the launch of the original Polly Pocket, the toy is enjoying a resurgence in Aussie stores.
The adorable mini dolls were first released in 1989, but were discontinued in 1998. Mattel then gave the collection a makeover and the dolls and their homes were made slightly bigger.
Big W is selling a whole range of Polly Pockets. There’s a variety of Polly Pocket World themed toys for $19. There’s the super small tiny pocket places for $6 each.
And our favourite is the 30 year edition Polly Pocket Partytime Surprise Keepsake Compact, featuring a polly pocket doll and a teddy bear. This piece is compactable and can easily be taken anywhere and is selling as part of Big W’s Toy Mania sale for $29.
We reckon these nostalgic toys are going to sell fast.
