Hello!

Thoughts on 3 year old kinder? What do they do? Is it worth it? Is it expensive? My daughter will be 3 at the end of June.

  • I think socialising for children is extremely important, the younger they start the better. But I don’t know the difference with 3 year old kindy and daycare :/

  • It is so very individual and really does depend upon your child.

  • Kindy or daycare is great for kids even just once a week.
as for tablets NO they are so bad for kids they dont need one of their own. They can use yours on those special occasions the get to play

  • But is 3 year old Kinder useful if they already go to daycare, what more are they learning in an hour and a half twice a week?

  • yes it is expensive but worth it, the children learn some basics and make friends and have fun and when they go into 4 year kinder they know all the routines and what is expected from them

  • i think 3 year old kinder is a great thing, we will be putting our toddler into kinder as soon as he is old enough, and he will be going to 3 year old kinder.
the only thing with 3 year old kinder not all kinders offer it and it is a private program so all costs are out of pocket and you wont get government support for it.

  • All my kids use out iPads, they range from 2-13, the2 yr old has used it since he was one, been a great investment, lots of educational apps for him, he has learnt so his, numbers, colours and many more things from this, as long as you buy a good case with it you shouldn’t have any trouble teach them from the start to be gentle and carful with them, they are money worth spending specially long at rides.

  • I would say its good but a bit expensive though !! Give it a try, sometimes its really worth it.

  • all depends on alot of things my Grandson goes to day care once a week to play with other children and he is doing better with his speech as well as toilet training. He enjoys going and it has helped him he paints and they learn songs and things and play they also learn to listen and some easy rules to follow

  • I find it AMAZING…

Not only is it great for mum and bub to have some time apart but it helps bub socialize..

My daughter was in care at the age of 2 but they quickly moved her up due to how smart she was and was put into 3 year old kinder.

They do a lot of sensory play, music, singing and dancing for co-ordiation skills..
Tooth fairy and fire trucks normally visits most kinders.. also musuem like people to teach kids about animals and other things.

    It helps with independance.
My daughter was having trouble with toilet training, they helped her soooo much!

Costs vary depending on where you go and if you are working or on centrelink.
The is JET help.. which helps a lot if you’re studying or working while on Centrelink (You get 6 months of Kinder fee’s at $1.10 if you are studying and 3 months if you’re working)

Otherwise, my daughters kinder with CCB and CCR is $18.90
but for those not on centrelink, a day is $88

  • My daughter just started the school readiness program through her long day care. She is 4. I don’t know that she needed anything the prior year as she was already at long day care and the activities they did were somewhat structured and helped with her skill development.

  • i think its just way to expensive for a three year old

  • I’ve heard good feedback but is expensive,

  • My 2 kids go to kinder and they do so many things and yes its expensive But I think it’s so worth it as they are also learning new skills.

  • My son started kindy this year he was 3 years 8 months and its been the best thing for him hes come on leaps and bounds we pay $190 a term thats for two days one week three days the next from 8.45am till 3.30pm.
If you can afford it go for it.
