Hello!

Have other mums delayed solids if their baby is sick with a fever? Also what were their first foods? As the Child Health now wants people to start with puréed meat! Thanks

  • Baby lead weaning so anything and everything you eat. Corn on the cob is always a funny one

  • Yes try farex first! Interesting reading the comments given to this!

  • No, I would think he would need more sustenance whilst sick. Go for veggies and fruit, a little mixed in with fares to start with….to check for reactions.

  • My sons first foods was pureed apple and beef and vege pureed.

  • Try farex first.

  • following…
Ive just started farex mixed with breast milk, baby 5 moonths not really swallowing. ive also mixed banana with it. tried a bit of mash potato and apple puree. today we tried weetbix

  • I will be making my own purée ans it will be a mix of pumpkin, carrot, Apple and a form of meat high in iron as my boy is borderline anaemic. It’s good to start with a mix of meat and veg. :) if you do it yourself it’s cheaper, easier and not such a waste!

  • my son tried farax at 4 months and hated it, so we tried puree apple and he loves it, some of his other favourites was sweet potatoe and a variety of veges mixed together :)

  • yogurt mince meats grated cheese toast .

  • there are some good comments here

  • fruits and yogurt are good or mashed veg’s

  • fruits are the best – pear I think is the easiest to digest and has no issues with causing constipation

  • How did you go with their first solid food?

  • i hope all is well

  • how did you end up going?
