Hello!

I am having serious issues with Ants invading my home! They are mostly in the kitchen. I have done a full spring clean but they still find ways in. I have had to putty up some areas along the bench and wall where they come in but they still find ways! I am sick of using chemicals inside and ant powder outside isn’t doing much either. Anyone else having this issue and any ideas how I can limit them. Ive been told that the lack of rain and dryness is the reason they come inside…..

  • Ant rid is the bomb!

  • I find the ants go mad whenever heavy rain is due rather than the dry. I remove the food source they are coming in for and replace it with a milk bottle cap with a few drops of liquid “Ant Rid”. They will take it back to the nest and kill the ants there too. Ants also don’t like crossing over chalk. I’ve never had much success with ant sand/powder either. I prefer the liquid Ant Rid over spraying chemicals and I find the results last longer because they are taking it back to the nest.

  • Diatomaceous Earth powder is not a chemical but will kill all insects. Ants will carry it to their nests and they all will die.

  • Had a really bad ant problem for a long time and just got so tired of washing and cleaning up in my pantry. One day I just wiped the cupboard shelves and did not wash the ant repellent off with soapy water and guess what “that stopped the ants”. Good luck.

  • Try a mix of 5 Tbsp baking soda and 5 Tbsp icing sugar to 3 Tbsp water. Place this mixture against walls or wherever you don’t walk, but where you see the ants. The ants will eat some and also take some back to their nest. This should eliminate your ant problem and it won’t be detrimental to your pets or children should they decide to try it.

  • I guess you’ve already tried the ant traps? Generally for us is enough. I hide them in closets where there have been ants. Other things you could try, in particular if you don’t want to use chemicals anymore, are sprinkling talcum (baby powder) or coffee powder along their trail.
