Hello!

I’m very lost, stressed and upset. As I’m sure a lot of people experience, going from two great incomes to one has really hit us hard. But it’s not just that, hubby was working a great job before baby was born, now he earns almost half of what he was earning before. Paying bills is impossible and the stress is stopping me from sleeping. Does anyone have any ideas how to earn income as a stay at home mum – I would like to do something without leaving my son. I can’t afford daycare as my hubby has earned too much previously. Maybe someone has an idea on a business I could start?

  • Jobs for stay at home mums aren’t that easy to come by, if they were, we would all be staying home with our kids. Hope you found a solution to your family nancisl problems

  • List your unused baby equipment on Kindershare – we have some families that have earned around $500 in 6 months from renting out their car seats, travel cots and travel prams. full details at https://www.kindershare.com

  • There are jobs where you can type court transcripts at home, but I’m not sure what the pay is like.

  • There’s not a lot that can be done unfortunately, trust me, I have looked.
Unless you want to sell avon or tupperware etc?
A couple of my mum friends started doing this thinking they could do it at home, but they are struggling with getting people on board.
I wish you the best of luck though!

  • Hoping that things worked out for you all!

  • it is really hard to work from home. Have a look at some of the party plan and find something that you might be passionate about. Other than that look at maybe something you could make and create and sell online. Good luck!!

  • how did you go anyway?

  • do what you can for a service! cook, clean, iron- from home so helps with daycare
    budget really well.

  • Maybe you could join a company such as Avon or Homecare and earn some money this way. Also, you could do ironing for people to earn some dollars.

  • i would use spare time to enter competitions and do surveys

  • depending on what your skills are freelancer.com might be helpful

  • other than get a job for a few hours a day, there isn’t a lot of ways to make money from home

  • take in kids for baby sitting or ironing or even do housework for people or even some light gargening for elderly neighbours or those that are at work all of the time

  • Been there and the best thing I did was get some financial counselling. There are plenty of organisations around that offer it for free. Also, there are plenty of business ideas out there for low or no cost start up. Have a look at them and see which ones you can modify to suit your strengths, talent and financial situation. Do not give up!
