Hello!

I would like to buy a BBQ, which comes under $500, durable, rust proof etc..I am a bit confused between Weber Q and Ziegler and Brown. Are there any other options, with at least a side burner? Thank you

  • We have a Zeigler and it is brilliant, before that a Weber for roasts etc but this is easy to use and great for cooking every night.

  • We have a little Weber coal BBQ. I haven’t used it yet as I’m concerned about the possible smoke flavour in any food cooked on it. We’ll use the gas one til I figure it out

  • so what did you end up doing?

  • it’s funny how i saw this question and i just have to state that i won mine and it was $688 retail value.

i got the bbq, stand upgrade kit, side burner and an accessories kit which included tongs and a rack. (you don’t need the stand kit if you don’t mind putting it on a bench but it’s handy if you take it somewhere)

i really like it though and use it a lot.
i have roasted a chicken and vegies a few times and you can also get a few really decent sized steaks and vegies in there.
We bought a gas bottle which initially is pricey but then you swap your empty gas bottle over for a full one and pay a lot less (hubby’s domain so sorry that i cant give you an idea on price).

it is pretty simple to get clean but as with all bbq’s there are some fiddly bits.
i can’t compare it to any other portable bbq’s because i’ve only had experience with this and a full size but it’s portable and fun to have at a park or beach

  • Not sure on this but I hope other mums can help you.

  • We have one and it is great, we have had it for a couple of years and it is fantastic on gas, very economical – it also fits a tonne on there even though it is quite small.

  • Saw them while I was out yesterday – will look into it more, waiting to read any other reviews from mums on here.

  • I have Ziggy that I won last year and I love it! I have the grill plate and flat plate. I’m now looking at also getting the pizza stone and something to do roasts, as my crackling on my bbq pork chops was so nice!

  • Not me but I’m in the market for a new BBQ and was thinking about a Webber so interested to read what other Mums think.
