Hello!

I bought salmon not the fish piece but the salmon like you use in sushi. Does anyone know what good recipes I could make with it? Would it taste good in risottos?

  • Definitely risottos! Also stir fries. Also mixed with potato to make fish cakes. Also put in foil with your favourite sauces and veggies, wrapped and sealed and baked I the oven. Divine

  • Salmon roll-ups

Let the kids make these easy wraps themselves for a quick and healthy lunch. You can substitute the salmon for tuna.
    Ingredients
    1 small tortilla wrap
    25g/1oz cream cheese
    1 tbsp chopped chives
    50g/2oz tinned salmon
    small handful salad leaves
    Preparation method
Spread the cream cheese onto the wrap, sprinkle over the chives, salmon and salad leaves. Season with freshly ground black pepper.
Carefully roll the tortilla up tightly. To serve, either cut the tortilla in half or into 2.5cm/1in slices and turn cut-side up on a plate.

  • I always make a salmon fettucini..it is beautiful. You mix the salmon in a creamy sauce..it is a favourite in our house and super quick and easy.
I also experimented with risotto..that was nice too but i prefer it with fettucini.

  • We use a nice recipe from taste.com.au – salmon with roast zucchini, sweet potato and an olive type dressing on it. I can’t remember the exact name but it’s the one dinner that everyone ends up with empty plates.

  • I love marinating it in soy sauce (or tamari sauce) apple cider vinegar and honey. Then I bake it for around 25 minutes. It’s delicious!!

  • I would use it in a nice warm salad or as you say in a nice risotto.

  • you can use it pasta dishes, rice dishes, cold salads. For pasta dishes just mix with some green veg and some creamy sauce like philly cooking cream. In rice dishes (I like to use wild rice) you can do like a fried rice with Asian veg and then add the salmon at the end…I like to make my own sauce for this with a honey and soy sauce and sesame seeds with a little garlic! Its so yummy. you could use any rice you like, or the risotto option. With salads, you can make up for fav salads from cold pasta salads, potato salads, Asian crunchy noodles salads and add the salmon to that! All these are perfect for the coming summer season! Maybe even make your own sushi rolls!

  • Yes, it’s lovely in risotto or pasta. Try a creamy linguini. Also lovely in bread rolls with lettuce and mayo or on wheat crackers with capers.

  • We have just started eating this as well My hubby takes it cold mixed with mayo as a snack at work also use it like tuna in sandwhiches ect or it is nice in sushi or homemade rice paper rolls

  • Great question .. I have never used salmon in recipes before and would also love some ideas:)

  • yes smoked salmon. I can only think of Sushi. Cabonara sounds nice but I’m allergic to egg and Milk : (

  • .if you mean smoked salmon, it’s pretty nice in creamy pastas. I also make a recipe where you combine avocado and cream cheese and then put some inside a smoked salmon piece and roll it up in a tube.

  • Do you mean smoked salmon?? YUMMO!! We put in homemade bacon carbonara, and it tastes sooo good, even the kids love it.
