  • my 20 month old still wakes a few times a night. and my three year old gets out of bed once a night usually. your not alone.!

  • mom56312, Our 3y.o. suddenly started waking during the night crying and was extremely hard to re-settle. We spoke to the Medical Centre nurse and were advised that from about 3 y.o. or in some cases earlier, they develop a strong imagination and sometimes have night terrors. As they get a little older they may be able to tell you what it was about or may tell your nxt morning without being asked. If they have a funny dream they may laugh in their sleep but not wake up. Some babies need a clean dry nappy to help them re-settlle, especially if they have nappy rash.

  • Our 18 month old will sleep about 6 hours in his cot and then wake up and won’t resettle so he ends up in bed with us. I hope you can get some sleep.

  • My 3 year old has just started waking at night not long after we stopped our 7 year old doing the same, we give him no more than a five minute cuddle due to the fact he shares a room with the 7 year old and put him back to bed.. Its enough to relax him and put him back to sleep. But he does this twice a night and i can not wait till he stops it.. I hope it doent last a few more years like his brother.. We never had that issue with our 6 year old daughter,

  • my 2 year old daughter wakes up atleast once per night.
Often my husband goes in and settles her. Sometimes she ends up in bed with us.
My son was different though. He has slept through since he was 3 or 4. He’s not 8. I wish my daughter slept like him, but they are very different.

  • My just turned 14 month old wakes some nights, we have found having a musical plush toy in his cot re-settles him

  • After a decade my sleep is still deprived. Great hey. Good luck !! I wish I had of gone to a sleep unit as advised. Sleep is so important. Seek medical or health nurse support. Sleep affects moods et. (Brain functioning) get plenty of sleep.

  • Your definitely not alone. The full night sleep will happen eventually. I have a 12mth who wakes every 3hrs & my toddler (32mths) comes into my bed at around 2am just about every night.
