I have my mum’s waffle maker- very old but the recipe I’ve always used is; 2 eggs separated, 1 cup milk, half a cup of water, 1 teaspoon vanilla essence, 2 teaspoons of sugar, 2 cups of SR flour, half cup of margarine melted. METHOD. Beat egg yolks and sugar together, Add milk, water, vanilla. Add dry ingredients and margarine, beat well. Beat egg whits until fluffy, fold into mixture. Allow to stand for 10 minutes- delicious!

Totally off track with this answer but what waffle maker did you get? I’m interested in getting one and would be interested to know where to start looking!

google it or go to taste.com to have a look. take the basic recipe and if you add say strawberries, make them very small pieces or better yet, puree them

Maybe treat yourself to a dessert cookbook with lots of good waffle recipes?

I would love some new waffle recipes too – I do love my waffles with maple syrup and ice cream!
