Hello!

Has anyone had the baby farm animals at your house? Any tips/things I need to consider?

  • Yes! We did this for my daughters last party and it was fantastic. All you really need is shade if its going to be hot and/or shelter if its cold/windy. They can use a garage or patio or some will even bring their own shelter if you have none. The kids at out party all had a ball and I’d highly recommend it.

  • I’d suggest you’d need to make it very easy for kids to wash their hands after being near the animals. Hand sanitiser, or liquid soap near an outdoor tap.

  • Not animals coming to the house, but we took the kids to see the animals. They had the best time, thouroughly recommend it

  • Yes, it was a great success and so easy indeed. All kids LOVED it !

  • Do you know of anybody who has a hobby farm with a variety of animals? They might bring you some, or allow you to go there and you pay a fee or make a donation to a charity. Check your yellow pages. You may find some places there. How many children are you thinking of inviting and what age group are they? Are they old enough to understand they have to be gentle with them and you make sure they do??

  • Did you end up going with this idea?

  • My friend had pony rides for her sons first birthday and all the kids loved it. It was so easy and she didn’t have to do anything.

  • Not myself but my friend did, consider the weather as she paid for it and then it was going to be a 38 degree day so they cancelled as it was too hot. De dung on how many kids you are going to have at the party, as if you have too many it could possibly scare the animals??

  • How did you go with your party?

  • make sure you have a large outdoor area. and remember the animals do poo so be prepared. check to see if the company you use has a sanitising station for little hands too.

  • Try and remember what it’s like at small petting zoos, poo everywhere, slipperery if it’s raining. Hand sanitizer. All kids bring a change of clothes and shoes

  • they will poo! be wary where you have their fenced areas set up lol. That will be fun. The kids will love! You don’t need a lot of animals, just get a couple. :)
