Flu season has hit our community does anyone have tips to avoid this nasty virus, other than flu vaccine?

  • As funny as this may seem when I bad vegetarian I didn’t get the flu once!
    I used to get the flu every year so bad and had a horrible, horrible cough to the point where it was almost like whooping cough.
    Then I went off meat and I seriously stopped getting the flu.


  • Take a supplement like olive leaf extract to boost your immunity.


  • Washing your hands! Eat a well balanced diet, I have the flu needle- given where I work this is a must in my eyes.


  • Always wash your hands and don’t touch your face, and keep away from public transport at peak hours.


  • Garlic & lemon are meant to be great for avoiding the flu.
    Put garlic in your meals & add lemon to your fish & drinks.


  • I think some people are just generally arch more bugs it might have to do with the immune system being down so I suggest staying healthy active and fingers crossed


  • Eating healthy , most of the immune system is in your gut, and increase vitamin c


  • Hand washing, simple as it sounds can be a huge factor in avoiding colds and flu. Make sure the kids get into the habit of proper hand washing and drying. Avoiding crowded places is also a good idea in flu season but of course this is not always possible. Common sense goes a long way!!!


  • You should wash hands frequently and have a hand sanitiser in your car or bag, its so important!


  • If you do get the flu – do seek medical support as secondary conditions care flare up. A flu needs careful attention.


  • Boost your immune system..up your vitamin c, eat garlic or take tabs and take a good echinacea supplement. AND like others have suggested practice good hygiene.


  • Make sure that you practise a good standard of hygiene. A flu shot is also a good thing.
    Remember that the flu shot will not help you avoid getting the coming cold.


  • wash hands frequently, avoid crowded areas, let sunlight in at home as it kills the virus, glen 20 everything, if possible make the person wear a face mask at home to prevent spread


  • Sometimes it can be difficult and depends on the level of exposure.
