Hello!

My son is 4 and still needs a pull up overnight. I’m curious if it just happens when they’re ready, which is what I believe will be the case but always open to advice/tricks/tips along the way. Definitely not wanting to rush him..!

  • I agree they’re all different and it’s not unusual for boys to be a bit later. I think I stopped using pull ups in the night with my boy at age 4,5, bit he regularly wet his bed till he was 10 or 11 years old. My youngest is 6yrs old and still wears a nappy at night and a pull up when she’s out for some hours during the day, but she has Down Syndrome.

  • Six children and all have been different, even the twins were dry at different times. Most were dry with only 1 or 2 accidents a year by four years. Still have one who has accidents as an adult. The earliest was two years ( he has a bladder that can hold a waterfall) but that is a fluke I think. The bed wetter was put on pills around six years, have tried mats that wake him up if liquids are leaked.
I would not worry too much unless it becomes a problem for either you or him. My son and his partner would make a fuss each time their daughter was dry in the morning. They had a star chart that if she got a certain amount of dry nights she was able to get a treat. She was about 4 1/2 when dry . If a problem maybe see a Dr about it.
