Hello!

I love cooking, especially sweet dishes. A number of recipes from American web-sites ask for the use of Graham Crackers. I’ve tried substituting several other types of biscuits, but an American friend of mine has said that none of them have the same flavour or texture as Graham Crackers. I can buy them on-line but it’s not cheap, especially when you have to pay shipping. Do any of our MoMs know of a biscuit available here in Australia that is similar to the Graham Cracker?

  • Google says : While Australia doesn’t have a direct equivalent to Graham’s crackers, Arnott’s Marie biscuits or Digestives are good substitutes. They may not mirror the exact taste profile, but they are the closest you can get.

  • Graham Crakers and Graham Cracker ready made crusts are available from USAFoods Melbourne
67-73 Cochranes Rd., Moorabbin, VIC 3189.

  • Try Malt biscuits (by Paradise). You can buy them at Woolies. It’s the closest one I found that taste like Graham crackers. Try it first and see if it will pass your taste. Some said Arnott’s Marie biscuits or maybe digestive biscuits.

  • Still looking for the answer, is there a biscuit available in Australian Super Markets that could be substituted for Graham Crackers ?

  • I have never heard of Graham crackers, sound’s interesting though!

  • Thanks everyone for these ideas!

  • Most grocery stores should stock Marie and Digestive biscuits.

  • Digestives or Marie biscuits should work.

  • digestives or plain coffee biscuits will do

  • Not to sure but I hope other mums can help you. Good luck.

  • What about nice biscuits as they are a little sweet ???

  • I’ve heard Digestives are our closest substitute. think most plain biscuits will work reasonably well.

  • Digestives work well, the American thing that confuses me is a stick of butter…lol

  • I use any plain sweet biscuit, eg arnotts Marie
