So I had my last baby 6 years ago. My lovely friend has offered to host a baby shower for me, I wasn’t going to but could be fun? do other people have baby showers for a second child?

  • I find them lots of fun. Loved the one for my first and if someone was willing to throw me one I’d definitely do it again. Whatever you want to do is perfect.

  • Didn’t have one. I’d be more inclined to do so if there were no gifts. I got enough ‘stuff’ that wasn’t wanted from well meaning folks (hate to see so much waste and consumerism and this sort of thing just encourages it). Plus I’d rather get together with friends one-on-one, or in small groups, doing something we enjoyed. I’d find a party tedious and another time burden for already very busy people… but I’m not a party animal!

  • I had my 2 little ones 4.5 years apart and I had a baby shower for both. It was so much fun

  • I’m not having one with our second but my daughter is only two. I think you should have one with your friend willing to host!Your family and friends would love to celebrate the upcoming birth of baby to be I’m sure!

  • If your friend wants to organise it and it doesn’t bother you then why not. I don’t see the harm in it baby showers are a lot of fun, and you can always say no gifts necessary so those that don’t wish to buy a gift don’t have to.

  • If you’re comfortable with having a baby shower, I’d absolutely do it. It could be a tonne of fun and a great way to celebrate your new bundle. I regret not having a proper shower for my first and would definitely do it next time.

  • Depends on if you have the same group of friends around you.
Depending on how much of a do it is .
As it was 6 years ago that’s not really close and by now.
write a list of pros and cons maybe put for some a book is better than a card or gift something for later on

  • If your friend is willing to organise it for you and you are happy for her to do it and you want it then go for it. :)

  • Really it is up to you if you have one. I never had one for any of my six children and still did alright.

  • Did not have them – but personal choice.

  • I never had one, but got plenty of useful presents anyway :)

  • I didn’t even have it for the first one. But why not? :-)
