Hello!

I have that “tell-tale” tingling and itchiness on my top lip and would love some successful treatments – natural if possible please. I haven’t had one for 20+ years!

  • I havent had this issue but have battled with splits at the corner of my mouth and use an antibiotic cream from the Docs called Kenacomb. that might work for you also.

  • I second Lysine tablets

  • Personally I would try applying tea tree oil topically to the area.

  • i pop a lysine tablet as soon as i feel ‘the tingle’ and usually take them for a day or two after… they either dont pop up or if they do then they dont stay long.
lysine is a natural remedy that u can buy at most chemists, blackmores and other brands like them make it…

  • yeah a lot of people use zovirax

  • Also up your intake of vitamin c.

  • A suggestion for after the cold sore has healed. I often find that my lips become very dry, often when the weather warms up and the air is so dry. I use Paw Paw Ointment- preferrably as high an organic concentrate as possible.

  • We’ve only ever used Zovirax. As soon as that first tingle starts, on goes the Zovirax. It works.

  • Yes hand sanitiser I put it on mine and worked faster than zovirax It was amazing!!! As soon as i felt a tingle i applied it. I think it must be because of the ammount of alcohol in it.

  • If you can handle slight burning feeling – 1. dab cold sore with metho using a cotton bud (this will dry out the cold sore) 2. use Nyall cold sore cream to sooth & heal lips

  • I too suffer from cold sores and have tried everything going around!!! They seem to have to ‘run their course’! I do put an ice cube on the spot if I feel one coming and sometimes this takes away the soreness and it does not develop into a full blown blister. I always get cold sores when I am feeling stressed so the trick is to stay calm…HA HA!.

  • When you feel a tingle get some Zovirax straight on and it will stop it in its tracks
Ongoing, but some Lysine supplements from health food store or chemist and start taking one a day. I used to get cold sores all the time for 30 years – started taking lysine and haven\\\’t had another one

  • 2 drops bergamot essential oil, 2 drops lavender, 1 drop eucalyptus and teatree, 1 tsp vodka. Mix and dab on frequently. I use this for my daughter and it works every time!

  • I have two suggestions. First several times a day dab with metho on a cotton wool ball or same treatment but instead of metho use tea tree oil. Can guarantee both have worked for me. Good luck.

  • Lysine, it’s natural , tablets sold at pharmacies, good luck
