Hello!

My daughter doesn’t have enough wardrobe space for her clothes. Does anyone know an efficient way of storing these clothes in a tidy manner? Thanks

  • Have you tried the Marie Condo way of folding things? Apparently that helps with a lot of space!

  • Besides thee build in we had some extra wardrobes made.

  • We use storage boxes that we can put in other rooms and they keep the moths out!

  • If you can afford to get some wardrobe inserts, this can increase your storage space immensely. Otherwise, look at things like hanging canvas shelves from the clothes rod.

  • How about sorting through them and get rid of what she doesn’t wear or things that don’t fit, if possible. I used to fold some clothes and stack them on the floor of the wardrobe, fir ones that just have hanging space

  • Some great suggestions already – from culling clothes and donating some to charity, to only having the seasonal ones in her room. Could perhaps try a variation on the seasonal storage by selecting clothes to be used for the month or week, so that only these are in the wardrobe and the rest in longer term, less accessible storage… or a bigger/different wardrobe! Sometimes the layout of the wardobe doesn’t lend itself to what you want to store (eg hanging space versus shelf, drawers versus half-height hanging space etc.)

  • I got a rack form kmart for $18 and a heap of hangers and hung them all up

  • If they’re too small, donate them to charity. For storage, I pop them into a suitcase and shove it on top of my wardrobe. Place some smelly sachets in for freshness

  • she doent need that many clothes!! maybe do a cull?

  • Under bed storage is a great idea.

  • In storage boxes or space bags (labelled) under the bed

  • you can get those vertical hanger bag things or vac seal things that she will still be able to wear during next year’s winter/summer etc. reduce the amount of clothes that she has because a charity or friend would like them! i know what it is like when you just end up with so much stuff

  • Thanks for asking this brilliant question; using some of these answers! There never ever seems to be enough storage space!

  • I use vacuum storage bags, they are great!!

  • Any chance you could get a cheap tall boy (IKEA have many) and fold away much of her clothes in there?
