  • It kind of varies depending on who is hosting Christmas and whether it’s a million degrees that day. Usually there will be hot meats.

  • For lunch we like cold for dinner we do hot :)

  • The hot meal is definitely my favourite. But we switch it up depending on what’s going on. If it’s just me and hubby, we go cold. But if we are having visitors, I’ll cook

  • We often have a combination of both. We prefer a turkey roll roast as it is moist compared to a turkey roasted – maybe I just am not good at cooking turkeys! We always have some cold seafood and salads with hot roast vegetables.

  • We have a cold lunch – saves heating up the house in summer and usually you can prepare most of it the day before so it’s just ready to go on Xmas day.

  • Lunch is great if everyone can turn up as it allows the evenings to relax a bit. Dinner is not always suitable when there are young children and they may need to go to bed early . We always had to be flexible because some of us have kids and some none , so it is based on the availability of others. Hot or cold doesn’t matter because everyone brings something so no one has to slave too much in the kitchen .

  • Never had cold, but sounds yummy!

  • Was wondering the same thing. Normally have the big roast but thinking of going for a lighter cold meal this year.

  • I love a bit of both, but I think it depends on your climate too, if it’s going to be a really hot day, I would be going for cold meats and salads, if it’s cooler roasts…..Christmas BBQ is always great too.

  • Hot and cold seems to be the way to go for all of the Silly Season! ;)

  • Hot and cold with every possible trimming and treat. Big bellies on Christmas Day!

  • we have a bit of hot, bit of cold. mix it up or not but enjoy the feast.

  • We also do a roast lunch & then use the left overs for dinner.
We do a lamb, turkey, chicken & pork with potatoes, veg, salad & a ham.
It is the highlight of my year.

  • We do a bit of everything- cold ham, hot turkey roll, seafood (prawns- nomm!) salads etc etc etc. Then leftovers for dinner :D

  • I grew up having a warm Christmas lunch. But now, with my own family, we have a big cold Christmas breakfast/brunch, and a warm special Christmas dinner.
