Does the dishwasher decontaminate chopping boards?

Hello!

Does the dishwasher decontaminate chopping boards? I put my chopping boards in the dishwasher every day. Does this mean they are getting the best clean and are decontaminated?

I would not put them in the dishwasher but wash by hand!

A hot dishwasher cycle will kill the bacteria on your chopping board.

Yes because the dishwasher usually uses hotter water than when hand washing.

I think they get a reasonable clean but not as great as scrubbbing. If you have any scratches on the board the dishwasher powder may get stuck in them.

I always put my plastic boards in the dishwasher. They always come out really clean.
