“Hi there, just wondering if you coulp please ask your network of mums for some help….. Of late my dishwasher is leaving a milky coloured stained around the rim of some of my glasses, its actually about half a centimeter down from the actual lip of the glass but it encircles the whole circumfrance. Dishwashing liquid wont get rid of it. I dont want to throw glasses away but its really unsightly. Any suggestions on how to clean it off and what might be causing it?”

  • Make sure you clean the filter this can make milky marks.

  • you need to add rinceaid this stops those milky stains.

  • yes a GOOD clean, but what detergent & rinse are you using?

  • I say your dishwasher just needs a good clean. I used to use rinse aid on mine. And clean all the filters

  • You probably need to clean you dishwasher by putting cleaner in it and run a cycle without any dishes in it

  • Also you can run it on a cycle with bleach in to help clean it out.

  • Use a rinse aid and you will see the difference.

  • I rinse all my dishers before putting them in the dishwasher this helps with white markings.

  • This was happening to me until I ran a dishwasher cleaner through…

  • Is it calcium build up? Maybe some CLR will help but would also clean out dishwasher.

  • I was also having issues with my dishes coming up with white chalky residue on them from the dishwasher! It turned out to be the brand of dishwasher tablets I was using that caused the issue…
I have since switched to a liquid dishwasher solution and have not had the same problem since!

  • Sounds like the machine needs a good clean, a run with bicarb and vinegar should hopefully do the trick.

  • Pull all the filters out and give it a good clean, also put some bi carb in and run it through a wash cycle for a good clean

  • Put a couple of drops of dishwashing liquid in with the wash , but only 2 drops or it will foam up.works great.

  • Sounds like your dishwasher needs a good clean. Check the drain/filter and then run a washing product through it. I like the finish one that you pop in the dishwasher
