“Hi there, just wondering if you coulp please ask your network of mums for some help….. Of late my dishwasher is leaving a milky coloured stained around the rim of some of my glasses, its actually about half a centimeter down from the actual lip of the glass but it encircles the whole circumfrance. Dishwashing liquid wont get rid of it. I dont want to throw glasses away but its really unsightly. Any suggestions on how to clean it off and what might be causing it?”

  • give your dishwasher a good clean out with rinse aid or with bicarb and bleach, whatever is better for your dishwasher. Also, have you changed settings or dishwashing tablets lately? might be the brand.

  • Dishwasher may need a good clean out. Either use a commercial cleaner or occasionally I have tipped bicarbonate soda in and vinegar and put on long cycle with nothing in there. Also my mother tells me vinegar can be used as rinse aid

  • try cleaning it off with vinegar. and give the dishwasher a hot cycle with no dishes in it.

  • Maybe you need to wash your dishwasher….seems clogged somewhere.

  • Clean your dishwasher and use a higher end dishwasher tablet.

  • Dirty dishwasher ? Have you run the washer empty with a special cleaner in it? Dishwashers can get dirty and leave stuff on your dishes

  • There are some special glass dishwashing tablets in the supermarket

  • Window cleaner and then rinse in hot water – then run the dishwasher empty and check what you are using in it

  • Sounds really weird but toothpaste works well. Trust me

  • Try window cleaner then re wash them to get rid of chemicals

  • 2 to 3times a year u need to run a empty round with some cleanser, and than ull have it all like new again,
Also cheap dish washing detergents can do that as well

  • You can buy cleaners that you run with a cycle, these work amazing. I only do it 1 -2 a year. I also don’t use homebrand or cheap tablets as I find these can leave a stain. Make sure you use a decent rinse aid too.

  • Did you change your dishwashing detergent? Are you using rinse aid?
I found that some of the cheaper brands don’t work as well. Then again, I know lots of people that use Aldi dishwashing tablets and swear by it.

  • I’d give the dishwasher a clean with finish dishwasher cleaner. Are the glasses scratched? An abrasive cleaner could do that. Also, try leave a little space around the glasses when loading the dishwasher to avoid scratches and chips.

  • Use a cleaner. then make sure you are either using a tablet with rinse aid in it, or make sure your rinse aid dispenser is full when using your liquid or powder.
