Hello!

Does anyone have issues with residue from dishwashing tablets being left on glassware once cycle has finished? I have run it through a clean cycle and it has not made a difference? Suggestions?

  • make sure your rise aid is full, maybe change tablets? some dishwashers work better with liquid or even putting the tablet in knife and fork tray instead of the little compartment. if none of that helps get a cleaner and put that through.

  • Use a rinseaid liquid as well as your normal detergent and an extra heat cycle OR use Fairy – I trialled Fairy and it cleaned my dishes perfectly without the residue and it even made my kitchen smell lovely and citrusy! Highly recommend, though its not sold in IGA supermarkets.

  • Sounds like you are using too much if you are using powder, or your dishwasher needs a clean. Tip a cupful of vinegar in a put through a cycle. Make sure you clean filters regularly too

  • I would try the fairy brand, i got a sample and they worked good

  • I love those new fairy tablets too – just fantastic

  • Try a really hot cycle with only vinegar in the machine. We received some samples of Fairy Platinum, and I couldn’t be happier with the way the dishes and glasses come out of the machine – sparkling clean and no residue.

  • it needs a clean when this happens to me i use half cup bi carb and 1 cup vinegar and wash on hot cycle

  • we use dominant powder and have never had any problems. i do use rinse aid as well.

  • I get the fairy one now and don’t have any problems anymore.

  • I run a quick cycle with baking soda and vinegar to remove any soap residue in the dish washer.

  • Change your dish washing tablets. Try a powder and only use a little bit. It might actually be your water reacting with it!! We only use about a teaspoon of powder or else we have the same problem!

  • I have also just tried fairy platuim. Left dishes and glasses sqeaky clean and the dishwasher seemed cleaner too.

  • I would change the brand of dishwashing powder/tablets. If you are using a powder try changing to the tablets and if the change does not help you may need to have someone look at it.

  • I used to have this happen quite a bit. I found that the water wasn’t heating up enough to disolve the tablets.

  • Try running a cycle with just vinager and baking soda. i do this once a week and it seems to do the trick. It also neutralises bad smells and is septic safe :)
