  • not keen to have the maintenance that goes with it and the costs, although in the summer months it would be truly divine and an instant source of entertainment for the kids rather than devices.

  • No I haven’t. Think the hassle outweighs the benefits. Compliance with pool fencing and other safety requirements, cleaning and upkeep of the pool, maintenance of pumps/equipment.

  • They can be expensive to run a pool pump and buy all the chemicals, so I would only get one if you’re planning to get a lot of use out of it.

  • No pool for us. We live about 10 minutes from the beach.

  • no but i would love one. i know that they need a lot of maintenance and make your power bill more expensive but it would be worth it in summer and also for getting fit.

  • We do. We have an above ground pool.
Shop around & find something that best suits your families needs.
Also look into the fencing, our fencing cost a lot more than our pool but you can not put a price on safety! Your local council will be able to help you out with that.
Really pay attention to which chemicals you are going to use & how you will store them. We have a lockable cupboard in the shed which we use.
Also does anyone who is going to use the pool have an allergy, one of my boys is allergic to chlorine so we use the salt.
We love having a pool & I strongly recommend getting one, especially with the warmer weather. We have many happy memories with ours & it has been great exercise for the kids & myself & my partner. Don’t forget all your safety precautions, we use life jackets &/or floaties for the kids & ALWAYS an adult with them.
Best of luck & if you do get one, enjoy!!!

  • No,not now we had one when l was younger and was never out of it!

  • Lucky you mum4107! Good on you for using it for most of the year too.

  • Yes we have one. It is securely fenced. I maintain the chemical levels rather than paying someone. We have solar heating which means we get to use it for 5-6 months of the year because it’s warmer

  • I would love a pool for the warmer months!

  • No but I grew up with having one and loved it. They are so expensive now though!

  • No, no need to have one. We live at the beach! :-)
