Hello!

I sometimes cut my daughters fringe as it needs doing more often than the rest of her hair. She doesn’t really like me doing it (it looks fine). Do you cut your own or your children’s hair regularly?

  • No I dont have the skills and I have a friend who does good cuts for very reasonable prices.

  • Yes, I cut everyone in the house including my hub and myself.

  • I wish I could! I am just so useless with it.

  • I have 3 and yes cut all of their hair. My boy 9 he had a few visit to the barbers but majority it’s me (including hubby) and my girls 6 and 3, all me. Too expensive for a tiny trim, so I do it myself. However, I did took a cosmetology course prior to having them that includes hair cutting so I know what I am doing.

  • I haven’t been game enough to cut my kids’ hair in case I stuff it up, but if I had the confidence I’d do it rather than spend money on expensive haircuts. My own hair…what’s a hairdresser and what’s a hairbrush? haha!

  • Yes, but I often think about doing some training to actually know what I’m doing when cutting my kids hair. I think there will come a time when they refuse to let me do it!

  • I don’t cut my own because I can’t get the back straight – tried many times.
I remembrt my Mum cut mine – after the hairdresser made a mess of it. Initially it was done by a hairdresser but I was sick once when it desperately needed cutting – apparently my hair kept falling out of the clips into my eyes, and the back was straggly. The hairdresser Mum used for hers and mine retired. When she took me to another one who made a mess of it, Grandma asked Mum what had happened to it. Grandma was gradually going blind but she noticed that as soon as we visited again. After that she cut my hair until she was physically unable to do it. The last 10 – 15 years of her life I cut hers too – mainly because they din’t ask her to move her head, they simply jerked it a few times and it gave her neck pain + headaches.

  • yeah but because i am a hairdresser lol :)

  • I used to when they were small and knew no different . We all have straight fine hair so it was quite easy to cut a wispy fringe etc . Later on they insisted on going to the hairdressors so they got kids haircut then .

  • Google cutting hair and watch tutorials on cutting hair. There are some good tips! it is a god skill to have for trimming and cuts.

  • NO! i do sometimes trim a tiny bit of a fringe or around the ear but I definetly wouldn’t attempt to cut it all

  • Trimming is quick and easy at home and saves $$$ :)

  • No but I run the clippers over hubby’s hair every so often! lol!

  • Yes I do!! Both my daughter’s and mine! But my daughter’s hair is quite easy because long and the same length. While my hair is short and layered. If I make some mistake (it happens!!) I have to go the hairdresser! ;-) I use CreaClip. Do you know it?
http://creaproducts.com/store/ If you check in YouTube you will find a lot of videos explaining how it functions.

  • My dad used to cut ours as kids. One Sunday a month on the back verandah. I always looked like a boy
