  • I love Tara Moss. She does thrillers. I also love Jennifer Weiner – she wrote in her shoes.

  • I recently read The Natural Way of Things by Charlotte Wood and found her writing style to be fresh and interesting.

  • Alexandra Duncan- sci fi author. She wrote Salvage, Sound and Blight. Salvage is my favourite. It’s sort of a retelling of the Little Mermaid, but much more than that.

  • I love reading Diana Gabaldon’s novels, in particular the Outlander series.

  • Jodi picoult! brilliant author…

  • Jodi Piccoult is my all time favourite author. Her books never fail to thrill me. She really is a talented female author. Thoroughly recommend her

  • yeah i love lots of different female.authors but not one in particular. for a male author, love stephen king and graeme simison who wrote the rosie effect.

  • I’m a huge fan of female fantasy authors: Trudi Canavan, Alison Croggon and Cecelia Dart-Thornton (all Aussies), Juliet Marillier (NZ), Fiona McIntosh (UK born Aussie) are all faves in this house!

  • I’m getting to know a lot of great Australian authors. If you have the chance, read them! Josephine Moon, Jenn McLeod, Fleur McDonald, Tess Woods…

  • MOM93821 you are very welcome!
Outlander has also been made into a TV series as well if thats your thing ^.^
(Personally I always think the book is better)

  • Thanks ladies for all of the answers and book recommendations. :)

  • I love, love, love Jodi Taylor at the moment. I’m up to book 6 in her Chronicals of St Mary’s saga and I’m already sad because it’s the last book and I don’t want the adventure to end. Check out the reviews on Amazon about the books. The first one is called Just One Damned Thing After Another.

  • Absolutely! I love Monica McInerney! I’ve read all her books and she’s just awesome. She’s Australian/Irish.
    I love Jodi Picoult too!

  • Thanks – RemyMumma for the fantastic list of authors. Have noted them down and will get them and read. I love to read everything and anything. :)

  • Sara Douglass’ Battleaxe trilogy is up there as one of my favourites, and if you enjoy it there are another two trilogys afterwards that continue the story :)
Diana Gabaldon’s Outlander series is fantastic too, and there are 8 of those so far, with 2 more planned and several offshoot books that follow some of her characters as well.
