Hello!

Hey MoMs, I’m about to paint our new front door and wondered if anyone has ever consulted a Feng Shui expert for front door colours.  I’ve googled but can’t seem to find exact info on front door colours.  Does anyone know? Failing that, has anyone seen a colour they thought looked amazing? Thanks!

  • Your front door colour would depend on your likes, the colour of the rest of your house and also the colour of your garden plants. There is no generic answer here

  • I’ve never consulted anyone I always go with a neutral colour personally

  • yeah don’t go for white, maybe some creamy colour, red

  • go to the paint shop stand in front of the colour wall and see what “draws” you in

  • I did white but it gets dirty too easily

  • I vote anything but white or cream. That’s what our doors are and they always look dirty.

  • I like Vikram77’s suggestion. Where I live the dirt is really red so I wouldn’t go for a light coloured door because the red dirt shows up on everything. Have a look at your surroundings and take things like the cleaning factor into consideration

  • Depends on your house colour. Maybe colour that does not need cleaning often and can hide dirt :)

  • if you want to find a colour to “look Amazing” it depends on the house colour and wood work colour.

  • I love purple but don’t do red – that is the sign of a brothel!!

  • brown is the beat colour ive seen but it depends on your house colours.. I have also seen an awesome blue one.. But again you have to have the right house.
Better safe than sorry I think.

  • Have a look around your area to see what colours your neighbours have used. Personally I think earthy colours like greens or browns look good.. also whites or creams can look ok. It also depends on the style of your house and what colour your house is.

  • I do think a nice shade of green would look nicer than the yellow. I’m guessing the meaning behind it is more important

  • Green for health, or maybe yellow for earth.

  • So what do you decide on?
