  • I did have, but I threw it out, I found huge biscuits went soft before they got eaten. Love the 2 recipes here, especially the first one. I have an elderly dog (nearly 14 :0) and it’s a great way to incorporate much needed fish oil into his diet without mucking around with tablets

  • I use this basic recipe, got it from the dog whisperer Cesar Milans website years ago
    Ingredients
    •2 ½ cups whole wheat flour (substitute regular flour or oats if your dog is sensitive to wheat)
    •1 tsp. salt (or less)
    •1 egg
    •1 tsp. Beef or chicken stock powder (can substitute beef or chicken broth/stock)
    •½ cup hot water
    Optional Add ins
    •Bacon or chicken broth, eggs, oats, liver powder, wheat germ, shredded cheese, bacon bits.

    •Preheat oven to 180
    •Dissolve stock cube in hot water
    •Add remaining ingredients
    •Knead dough until it forms a ball (approximately 3 minutes)
    •Roll dough until ½ inch thick
    •Cut into slices or bone shapes (you can purchase a bone shaped cookie cutter to make shapes with)
    •Place dough pieces on lightly greased cookie sheet
    •Cook for 30 minutes then cool

  • This recipe has fish oil for health benefits as it’s great for their coat, but it’s optional. I’d also use organic peanut butter buts it’s up to you. Here is the recipe:

    Ingredients
    2 cups of flour (white or wheat, if your dog has no wheat allergies)
    1 cup of rolled oats
    1/3 cup of smooth peanut butter
    1 tablespoon of honey
    1/2 tablespoon of fish oil
    1 1/2 cups of water

    Directions
    Preheat the oven to 175 degrees.

    Mix the flour and oats together in a large mixing bowl. Pour in one cup of water and blend until smooth. Add in the peanut butter, honey, and fish oil and mix until all the ingredients are well blended.

    Slowly add the water until the mixture has a thick and doughy consistency.

    Lightly flour a cooking surface. Roll the dough onto the cooking surface to create a 1/4 inch thick sheet.

    Use a cookie cutter to create shapes. Place the cookies onto a baking sheet and bake for 40 minutes.

    Allow to cool completely before feeding.

    Tip: If the dough is too sticky to roll, slowly pad more flour onto the dough ball.
