Hello!

I love to set goals, New Year Goals, weekly goals, monthly goals and Financial Year Goals. Do other mums set goals? I find setting goals and reaching targets motivating and like to work towards reaching my targets ahead of time. How do you stay motivated to achieve your goals and targets?

  • I find goal setting hard. I do make daily to do lists and usually get most things done – tend to add too many things to the lists though, but it helps me stay on track – especially on my days off work.

  • I don’t call them goals – I find that I feel like a failure when I don’t achieve them or they morph into something else. I just have aims – aim to do xxx this week, or xxx this month. It makes it a little easier to cope with if it doesn’t all come together!

  • If your struggling to put a little money aside open up a Christmas Club Type of Account with your bank where an amount is put straight into this account. Come end of year it’s a great relief.

  • I set goals every week yet I am still struggling to go through with them Loose weight, save money, visit people spring cleaning OMG the list goes on. Go back to bed and start your day again.

  • I lack motivation and goals. Maybe they go hand in hand? Maybe I don’t set goals because I lack motivation to follow through on them…..

  • This is something I am starting to do and not quite sure what I’m doing. Am starting to write down my goals and a few steps to get there.

  • i think set reasonable goals which are achievable then they work well.

  • To break even.
We’ve been slipping backward a bit since taking on a mortgage so hopefully I can find a balance between servicing the mortgage and the lifestyle we lead. Fingers crossed :)

  • I can set goals i just cannot seem to stick to them or achieve them which is really frustrating – I haven’t been able to pinpoint why I fail at them just yet but I am working on it – my goal is to pay off the credit card debt, put money into savings and get an emergency fund! – probably biting off more than I can chew but I think I need to do this to have a less stressful life – wish me luck!

  • Motivation and goals go side by side for me – need both of them!

  • Good on you Jenniw – saving for an investment is a great idea. Watching investments and savings grow is quite rewarding.

  • I just don’t get the process of setting goals.. or maybe I just don’t have the motivation,, however for this financial year my goal is to save enough money to make a small investment.
