Hello!

Anyone know of any good ways to sell all my unwanted stuff including f baby stuff, cloths, shoes etc. I’ve tried gumtree and eBay but besides the odd enquiry I haven’t had much luck. All my items are practically brand new and I’ve donated a lot and given presents but still have heaps taking up space.

  • If you’re listing your items for sale online and they’re not selling you may be asking too much money for them. Used as new is still used and does not come with warranty etc.. Also keep in mind that everything goes on sale at some point, and people want bargains on second hand stuff. If you want it gone consider selling things for less than half the regular retail price.

  • I have used Facebook marketplace before and sold a few things

  • Market place or buy swap and sell sites on face book.

  • Yes I was going to mention Facebook swap and sell too. But in the end of the day people are just happy to buy new and it’s hard to get rid of your used things

  • Facebook marketplace

  • I’ve tried gumtree without success. I will have to try other sites.

  • My local buy swap sells on facebook and fb marketplace are full of baby stuff i have bought stuff from there myself

  • You could set up a stall at a local market, depending on how many items you have.

  • A friend of mine uses Ebay ( and they charge a small fee on what you sell ) and I have had success on Gumtree with miscellaneous items . What I found is items don’t get sold straight away and you do have to constantly monitor your ads. Eg I’ve sold heaps of my kids textbooks just before school starts whereas during the year is a bit slow or nothing if you know what I mean . Also make sure you highlight your items are new and take good pics because it will make a difference on the sale. Good luck :)

  • Gumtree or facebook pages are great

  • You can sell your stuff on Gumtree – that is pretty good. You can upload pictures so people can see what they are buying. If you have a local newspaper you can advertise in their for free. We have the Quokka here and its free and you can sell in there. Just make enquiries around and see where else. You can also try Ebay.

  • I like selling on Facebook & gumtree I’ve had 100% success rate

  • i’m happy with gumtree… its successful and free

  • everyone suggests facebook, but if you follow many people, then they don’t have much success, people not showing up etc. The best is probably a garage sale.

  • I use local buy swap and sell sites on Facebook, if you don’t want people coming to your house you can organise a location such as a car park.
