I would like to know how many mums follow the food pyramid, to stay healthy

  • I never followed it as such, but see it more as a guide line and to explain to the kids that there are certain food groups we should consume in a balanced way to stay healthy


  • Pretty sure the food pyramid has changed somewhat from when I grew up. Good fats are no longer the enemy in fact they’re essential in a good healthy diet. I just try to eat a “balanced diet” and limit processed foods/sugars.

  • From memory, the food pyramid I grew up with is outdated now. They have created a new one. Some fats are still evil, but there are healthy days such as olive oil, avocado nuts. It’s still not great to deep fry heaps though


  • Yes, there is a new food pyramid to the one we grew up with. Fats aren’t evil anymore!


  • yeah it did i think. they reduced the size of the bad foods i think.


  • I went to a dietician about 2 months ago and she said that the pyramid has changed slightly. Sorry because of my baby brain, I can’t remember what these changes are.
