Hello!

Within my circle of family and friends there seems to have been a sharp decline in the number of Christmas cards sent/received. Does anyone else find this? Are people emailing/texting instead, or just not bothering with anything?

  • My Dad is a avid Christmas card writer, he starts in November to ensure he get through them all. My relatives know when it is Christmas as they get the annual card from him. Yes, it is definitely reducing in being used, but certainly something special about it.

  • The number of cards I send and receive declines each year. I will continue to send a couple to friends overseas or people I haven’t seen in a while.

  • I sent about 60 last Christmas and I received 5 in the mail I think cards are no longer a regular as most people seem to message

  • I love to send Christmas cards still. I hand make mine. Unfortunately, I don’t get as many back anymore as I send out.

  • yes it has declined… and those who send do use electronic greetings more. In school many children used to send the whole class cards (and our house was full of them) but that has stopped as they’ve grown older and have a few close friends… perhaps cards are just to expensive now! Our circle has declined so much that I can make my own now!

  • not too much. most people text or send e-cards now

  • I only send them to people I want to stay in touch with from when we lived interstate but don’t see regularly. We send and receive less and less though.

  • Today I gave some Xmas cards out to my inlaws when we had our gathering and they died of shock and asked do you still give cards, we do it online now ! . I think we are getting more boring don\’t you think due to the convenience of online now .

  • I give them out because I enjoy it and I pop in a visit when I hand deliver cards too.

  • I only give them to people who give me one now. I used to all the time. Then I just stopped.

  • I always send them out and I love doing it! The numbers received have dwindled over the years and it is rather sad as a text does not compare to a gorgeous home made card made with care and love with a personal message. Cards strung up around the house have such a festive feel too!

  • I sometimes will give them out – but usually don’t worry about it these days.

  • I still send them. But every year a little less.

  • I used to send them every year to family, friends and co workers. Then one year I didn’t get round to doing them. It was then I realised a lot of people only send them if they get one first. Bigger that!
