Hello!

I’m expecting baby number 5 and need to invest in a double pram! What are your recommendations? Thanks!

  • An in front one – doubles are too big for shops!

  • I know this question was from a couple of years ago, but i thought a newer answer wouldn’t hurt any other mums out there asking the same question.
I loved the idea of having a side by side pram as it’s easier to get the kids in and out of it. however, after not being able to get in some shops with just a single stroller sometimes, i decided that i couldn’t do a side by side – it would be too limiting. I mean i wouldn’t have been able to get into any of the shops along my high street with a side by side.

I got a steelcraft strider. It was big, but i was able to get in most doors, and it was sturdy. Very happy with it.

  • My advice to anyone looking at prams – try them in your boot for size – ours only just fits and it has to be put in a certain way otherwise it wont fit! Very frustrating

  • What did you end up getting?

  • i got one from big w. i had 2 children close together. It is a great size to get around with though and pretty light

  • Whatever you get, make sure it’s narrow enough to fit through most doors, or you’ll be constantly getting stuck in doors, aisles, and other tight spots.

  • I would look around and find what feels right for you

  • I had a side by side I found it great cause if the both wanted to sleep they could and can both see everything all the time ..

  • Phil and Ted make a good double pram

  • I think its difficult having to stroll with a double pram with the side by side but the one under one over will work good :-)

  • Wow congratulations, I would go to your local baby shop and try them first as I had a double pram (spent a lot) and wasn’t really the right thing in the end. Also make sure it will fit in your car, or bus in your case!

  • I had three kids in three years we went for a Limo Pram. I liked that it was only one person wide and it has handles that I can change to view my kids and when I want them to sleep I would walk them around the block and look at them through the top cover which had a clear window. Number three loved to ride on the step and I had a seat fitted for her. Very convenient.

  • A friend of mine is having twins and looking at getting a baby jogger city select, rather than a side by side double pram.

  • Steel craft agile, nice and light and easy to fold, and comfy for all ages

  • I’ve bought the Strider Plus which you can add an extra seat to. I only have the one bub at the moment but plan to have another one soon. The extra seat accommodates the older child underneath with new bubba on top.
