Hello!

Do you need to drink more water while pregnant or just the same amount as you would usually? I would love to know the pros of drinking a little more and why. Thanks in advance.

  • I didn’t adjust my normal water intake for pregnancy. I don’t remember any advice recommending me to drink more either

  • I had regular fluid intake.

  • I think you are meant to. I did but mainly because I was preg during summer and was STRUGGLING! haha I drank between 2 to 3 litres everyday. Also I didn’t think about it but you also need to keep drinking loads of water while breast feeding. I dehydrated my baby when she was 2 days old because I didn’t drink any water.

  • You need to drink more because you have more blood volume while pregnant and need to stay hydrated. It also reduces the chances of getting constipated and my obs told me that it can also help with swelling.
