Epidermal nevus in 3 year old

Hello!

Hi, Wondering if you could post this for me, My daughter now aged 3 was diagnosed with epidermal nevus about a year back. This is in her elbow (few warts like lil lumps)and a little bit on the wrist. We have been applying retrieve for a while and most of it has miraculously gone down but leaving a huge scar (Pigmentation).

1.Does any one else have similar issue and if so what do you use and what is the result?

2. Any suggestion/treatment to at least fade off the scar/pigmentation

3. Doctors says her babies might get and if they do it will be serious than what she is having as with her its just few lumps on elbow and wrist.

What colour are the warts / little lumps?? I have got some patches of something on my skin but the Dr. doesn’t seem too concerned. I have whatl like a raised freckle on the outside of my wrist that one of the kids keeps scratching at. One day when he tried to scratch it I stopped him but he took my other hand and used one of my fingers to scratch it. It doesn’t hurt, itch or bleed at all. He has a “thing” about marks on things in general at the moment.

Bio oil is great for this type of thing. I’ve never heard of this condition, lucky it cleared up ok. Bit stressful knowing her babies will have it worse :/ Might be something to fix it by then

What is retrieve. Never heard of it. Have you tried laser treatment. My daughter has a loss of pigmentation because its from birth it will not come back. The laser took away those red veins showing.

The condition your daughter has can be genetic. It may help to ask your doctor for a referral to a Genetic Councillor and a Plastic Surgeon and they will answer your questions and give you advice.

We have a similar situation. Our children have a genetic condition called Neurofibromatosis and they get little growths which need to be removed and our daughter has a large Congenital Naevi under her arm pit which is being removed in stages by a lovely plastic surgeon here in Adelaide.

You are not alone and don’t be afraid to ask the doctors you see questions about the condition.
