Hello!

What foundations do other MOMs use? Everything I have tried cracks or flakes off. It can be really embarrassing & has deterred me from putting in an effort with my appearance. Please help!

  • I prefer to use no foundation at all

  • I tend to just use a tinted moisturiser. It looks more natural but still gives a nice coverage without flaking etc.

  • the Revlon colourstay photo ready is great.

  • I’ve always used Innoxa foundation as I have sensitive skin & just recently I’ve been using the Ritz powder & it gives a lovely finish over my foundation.

  • I love MAC mineral foundation. I find its not too heavy and looks quite natural

  • Using a primer helps heaps before foundation. I have combination skin, so a nightmare between balancing flaky dry areas and oily, shiny spots when using foundation. I find BB cream great – has moisturiser in it and once you match the colour it’s so simple and quick to put on. Stays all day and balances my flaky dry areas and oily areas

  • Have you tried a primer before you apply the foundation? I use a Clinque liquid foundation

  • I would suggest you need a moisturizer before applying any products to your face. I had a similar problem a few years ago and since I started applying moisturizer the problem has gone. Good luck.

  • Best i have found is revlon colourstay.

  • I wonder if it is because it is not suited to your skin type . If you have oily skin , go for the oil-free ones and if dry skin , use the ones with more oil based . There are a lot of good brands and I have tried most ones that you can get from Priceline or if you prefer dept stores such as Myer where they have exclusive brands . Make sure you test it in light on your skin before you buy and see how you go .

  • Chemists and stores often have samples too, good idea to try a few out on your skin.

  • Personally I like BB creams.
No need for foundations for me.
And as Carrie Bickmore says beauty in a bottle, by by dryness.

  • I would suggest going to a store and getting each make up brand to give you a free assessment. They will try the products on your skin and should help you to find products that work on your skin.

  • The new Avon Luxe its the best coverage , if you would like to see how it looks add my private makeup artist page.

  • I have tried so many foundations with side-effects such as cracking foundation, cracking skin, break-outs, gluggy spots, and more. I found, that with a moisturizer underneath the foundation, my skin likes the Cancer Council (yes, you read correctly) foundation. I prefer it over brands like Revlon, Maybelline, Nutrimetics and even Clinique. Its added benefits are that it has sunscreen in it, it goes on nicely and isn’t gluggy or too thick, and is cheap!! Just test the colour on the back of your hand for a match.
