I have tried and tried over past 5 years to stop smoking. I’ve used the patches and tablets both caused a reaction. It’s affecting my health now but it’s such a hard habit to break after nearly 26 years. I need to hear other ideas on how you have succeeded in throwing away a bad habit. Thanks

  • I found the best way to start was to avoid anyone that smokes.Make your home a smoke free zone.Tell visitors no smoking at your place.Join a group of other online and talk about it.Reward yourself with a nice treat after every week without a smoke.Eat lots of fresh food.Have some nuts to munch on.Keep active.Walk lots.Add up how much money you spend in a year and then 10 years ans write down what you could off brought with it

  • definitely try e-cigs!
    they are amazing!
but make sure you get a good quality one,
some of the ones u can get from tobacco shops are useless, and still contain nicotine
have a look at the page carol – e-cigs on facebook. hers are the best!

  • There is no easy way. I found out i was pregnant and was suppose to never be able to have children. I have a heart condition and i have asthma. My mum happened to go to my GP who sent a message home through her to me. ONE HAD TO GO i had to choose or basically things wouldn’t be good for me. I picked up my packet lit my last smoke had it with my mum and simply said this would be my last one EVER. She just laughed i was only a few weeks along wen i QUIT. That was it from that day to this almost 7 years on i have never touched another. I simply detest the filthy things. And sadly i nursed my mum only 12 months ago til she died from smoking!! So i really hate that the evil things stole my mum my best friend and my children’s Nana who they will never remember. It’s will power that will get you through. Working out who or what is more important and using that as a tool to draw your strength. I used the fact i was pregnant and all i ever wanted was to be a mummy. This was my opportunity and nothing was getting in the way of it :) gl
