Hello!

Hi, I’m hoping some of the mums can help me. I’ve had a headache/ sore right side of mouth since Friday. After consuming enormous amounts of panadol, I didn’t get any relief. I’ve heard headaches and sensitive gums are common during pregnancy but wondering if anyone else has suffered from headaches and sensitive gums during pregnancy and what helped them. Thanks in advance, Naomi

  • Very sensitive gums! And mild headaches. Ive been trying to keep hydration up, and using a soft tooth brush.

  • Me was in the same boat at my tine

  • My headaches probably eases more so during pregnancy but my teeth and gums were definitely more sensitive and brittle during both pregnancies

  • Hi Mom
With my first pregnancy, I had headaches like crazy and off course, the Doc would not give me anything, what helped me a bit is a hot bath and a head massage from time to time from my hubby. As to the sore gum, I just shook baking soda and water around in my mouth but that was in 1999 when you could not take anything of this sought while pregnant. I am sure with
Technology the Doc can prescribe you something to help. Hope this help.
    Gwen

  • I hope you found some relief.

  • yes! Sore gums for sure, not much fun :/

  • Hormones have a lot to answer for. Sore gums and bleeding too are common, headaches and migraines too

  • It is pretty common; ensure you look after dental during pregnancy; can cause problems.

  • Sore gums and sensitive teeth are one of the things that can affect you whilst you are pregnant. Because you can’t take any strong painkillers there isn’t a lot you can do. Maybe try rubbing some numbing gel on your gums.

  • Sore gums are normal during pregnancy and I also experience the headaches just remember to drink plenty of water it will help and Panadol if needed.

  • Sore gums are common through pregnancy. Drink plenty of water to try get rid of the headache.

  • I never did have, I hope all worked out well

  • Headaches can be caused by hormones but also by not drinking enough water. It might also be the level of blood pumping which the water will help to thin. Chat to your doctor about stronger pain relief that you can use during pregnancy. I had to be on maxolon and panadeine forte due to migraines. Good luck and I hope the pain goes away.

  • not sure about headaches, but sensitive gums are normal

  • I hope that the condition did not persist.
